pH and EC Meter

Monitoring the pH and EC of your irrigation water or nutrient solution is essential so your plants can properly absorb the exact amount of nutrients and additives at each stage of cultivation. 

A correct pH level guarantees proper nutrient absorption and prevents possible lockouts that result in deficiencies.

EC and pH in the Growing Medium

When there is a problem of excess EC or conductivity, it is very common for pH instability issues to appear and for this to cause nutrient lockouts and deficiencies. In these cases it is recommended to use an osmosis filter that purifies the water and stabilises the pH in the resulting solution.

pH Meters

pH meters are devices that allow you to monitor the pH value of a liquid solution or growing medium. There are portable and fixed pH meters that are installed on the wall to perform continuous measurements in reservoirs or irrigation circuits.

To perform the measurement, some pH meters have integrated probes / electrodes and others have replaceable probes in case they become damaged. Check the specifications of each product sheet carefully to verify the characteristics of each model.

It is essential to perform correct maintenance of your pH meter, use storage solutions and calibrate it with each use to ensure accurate measurements.

EC Meter

EC stands for electrical conductivity and its value measures the amount of dissolved salts in the water and in horticulture indicates the amount of nutrient the solution contains.

EC meters require minimal maintenance so they have greater durability than pH meters and the probes are not usually replaced.
