Substrates

In this section of the catalogue we present you with all the available substrates where you will find references of coconut fibre, peat, perlite and special mixes dedicated to different typologies or moments of cultivation.

The growing medium is the foundation that provides structure and support for plant roots, so choosing the right one is one of the most important factors for successful cultivation. In this category you can find different growing media carefully selected by the Growlobby team.

We can highlight some brands such as Atami, Biobizz or Canna, major producers of maximum quality growing media featuring classics such as Coco Substrate, Janeco Light Mix, All Mix Biobizz and Coco Professional Plus.

Soil provides nutrients that are progressively assimilated. Coconut fibre maximises root development but contains virtually no nutrients, so from the outset it requires a nutrient supply. We offer you other growing media such as vermiculite, perlite, worm humus, expanded clay or vermiculite.

Cannabis growing medium

One of the most important factors for your growing operation will be the cannabis growing medium you use. Nutrition in any case is one of the determining factors of your growing success. The growing medium is equally important in any type of cultivation, whether outdoors or indoors.

Cannabis growing medium can be soil-based, coco or rockwool, depending on what the grower is looking for. There is a wide variety of growing media in our shop that offer different nutrients, pathogen-free, and we have also selected those of the highest quality.

The growing medium for cannabis in indoor and outdoor will be the same, it depends on the needs of each plant and not on where it is grown.

The main difference between types of growing media is that some can be inert and others nutrient-enriched. Inert growing media are those that contain no nutrients, so you have to add them through irrigation water. On the other hand, nutrient-enriched media are those that already contain the nutrients your plant needs.

Growing media for cannabis cultivation

It must be borne in mind that growing media for cannabis are developed so that your plants absorb nutrients, but at the same time, they are the medium in which they will develop. Therefore, they are the medium in which the roots and the plant will develop, so we must select the right one for our cultivation.

If our growing medium does not have the correct pH level, contains toxins or does not have the appropriate EC, our plant will not develop correctly, will absorb toxins, or will find it harder to obtain nutrients. These growing media have been specifically selected to favour the correct growth and development of your cannabis plants and buds.

Cannabis cultivation in soil

Soil is a nutrient-enriched growing medium, that is, it contains nutrients, but we can find them at different levels:

  • Light growing medium: those that contain the nutrients needed for the first few weeks of cultivation, after a couple of weeks we will have to start adding nutrients through irrigation.
  • Medium growing medium: they also contain nutrients, but these will last a couple of weeks longer than the previous ones, so after approximately one month of planting, we should add nutrients through the water.
  • Growing medium with high nutrient content: those that, as the name suggests, contain plenty of nutrients, so we save ourselves having to keep adding large amounts of fertilisers through irrigation. A good example would be atami kilomix 50l soil which you can buy in different formats.

We can combine our growing media with other products, such as humus, microorganisms, root promoters or other fertilisers, to create the nutrient mix we consider most necessary for our cultivation.

Cannabis cultivation in coco

The coco growing medium for cannabis is inert, so it contains no nutrients, therefore you will have to use fertilisers from the beginning of cultivation.

It offers a number of advantages such as high aeration, you can control 100% the nutrients you provide and, moreover, your plants will offer greater size in a smaller space. It tends to be a growing medium for experienced growers, since in these types of cultivation, by providing all the nutrients ourselves, mistakes can be irreversible.

Hydroponic cannabis cultivation

In hydroponic systems, the roots of our plants are not introduced into soil, so they are suspended. They can be supported with materials such as rockwool or clay pebbles. Nutrients are supplied directly to the roots, usually by spraying. On our website you will find all types of supports and accessories necessary for this type of cultivation, from planting pots, to cutting trays, or complementary products such as cannabis growing nets.
