Vermiculite No.2

Vermiculite is a mineral with a laminar structure ideal for mixing with peat or covering the surface of seed trays, as it helps maintain soil moisture and temperature.

A mineral of micron-like size, expanded at 900°C. As the water contained between its layers vaporises, the heat causes them to explode into a multitude of thin layers with a high air content.

Vermiculite is ideal for mixing with substrates to provide aeration and hydration. The elasticity and lightness of Vermiculite prevents substrate compaction and suffocation, allowing roots to breathe better. It should be incorporated at 20% to 40%.

It is a hydrophilic substance and has a great exchange capacity, facilitating the re-wetting of substrates. Water and nutrients are more available.

Physically balanced and non-aggressive, chemically inert and biologically aseptic, it constitutes an ideal environment for plant growth.
