Jamaican Mountain

The name comes from Jamaica's Blue Mountains, the 2,256-metre peaks where the world's most expensive coffee is grown. And the variety is built with that idea in mind: a plant designed to thrive outdoors, not to live in a cupboard. It's the third collaboration between Julian Marley and Silent Seeds, and the only one of the three that declares resistance.

The only one in the line that declares resistance

Silent Seeds attributes it with natural resistance to tropical climate, powdery mildew and insects. Translated to a growing season in Spain: it's the one that fits best in areas with morning fog, high humidity or coastal zones, where powdery mildew and botrytis wipe out entire harvests in September.

Add to that the most reassuring fact for outdoor growing: it harvests in early October, not mid-season like its two sister varieties. Ten or fifteen fewer days of exposure might seem minor until the first autumn rains arrive. It's among the feminised outdoor seeds with the most convenient calendar in the catalogue.

Lemon, skunk and kush

The cross is two elite clones: High School Sweetheart and Lemon Meringue. From the latter comes what stands out most, a clean lemon citrus that opens the profile; beneath it appears classic skunk and a kush finish that gives it body.

It's a flavour profile from another era, and that's precisely what makes it useful in a catalogue full of sweet and fuel varieties: it offers something different without veering into pure nostalgia, because the potency is genuinely modern, between 25 and 27% THC.

Columnar structure and robust branches

It grows slender, with a structure the bank compares to the columnar pines of Jamaica's mountains, and reaches 2.4–2.6 metres outdoors, the tallest in the line. The leaves are medium-sized and the internodes wide, so light reaches the interior and buds develop uniformly from top to bottom rather than concentrating at the tips.

The practical difference from the Julian Marley Special is in the branches: that one has numerous thin ones, and this one has robust ones. With 1,450–1,600 g per plant in soil over a full season, that difference shows when the buds are heavy in the final weeks.
