HYPOcontrol (Stratiolaelaps Scimitus)

Stratiolaelaps scimitus is a predatory mite that focuses its feeding on sciarid fly larvae, more commonly known as soil fly, but also acts against other pests.

It is a large mite, reaching 1mm in length. The duration of its life cycle depends on temperature and humidity, as well as the amount of prey it can feed on.

At 28°C it reaches adulthood in 10 days, whilst at 15°C it will take about 33 days. With an abundant food supply, its life cycle can last up to 7 months. They act in the first 4-5cm of soil and can consume up to 8 fly larvae per day.

Method of use:

• Use the product immediately upon arrival (18 hours maximum)
• Keep away from pesticide residues
• Do not break the cold chain
• Withstands temperatures between 10°C and 32°C
• Place the container in horizontal position and rotate to homogenise contents before opening
• Hang the sachets over the plant, avoiding contact with heating pipes and protected from direct sunlight
• Recommended dosage: 200 to 500 individuals/m2
