Description
Most PK products sold for flowering come in liquid form, and you pay for, store and transport all that water. Atomik PK is powder: the same function during the fruiting phase, without a water-filled container. It's among the flowering fertilisers in our catalogue.
What does 0-50-30 mean
Those three figures are nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Here nitrogen is zero on purpose: during full flowering, nitrogen stretches the plant instead of filling the flower, so a properly formulated PK doesn't include it. What it provides is 50 phosphorus and 30 potassium, plus a seaweed extract that acts as a biostimulant.
To put the concentration in perspective: the classic 13/14 PK declares 13 and 14; this one declares 50 and 30 on solid product. That's why dosing is measured in tenths of a gram per litre rather than in millilitres poured by eye. It's a fast-acting phosphorus and potassium, designed so you see results within a few waterings.
When to start and when to stop
The manufacturer specifies an exact window, which is precisely what's usually missing from this type of product. Start with pre-flower formation, between day 14 and 21 after the photoperiod change, and continue until final maturation, around day 50-65 depending on variety.
And most importantly: stop 10 days before harvest. That pause is the difference between a flower that tastes like flower and one that tastes like fertiliser, and it's the most common mistake made with any bud fattening product. Mark it on your calendar the same day you start using it.
How far does one kilo go
Working out the maths with the recommended dose, 1 kg yields between 2,000 and 3,300 litres of irrigation solution depending on whether you use 0.5 or 0.3 g/L. For a home growing cabinet that's one and a half seasons; for a small room, an entire crop cycle. That's the real advantage of solid fertilisers: the cost per litre of irrigation drops significantly.
With such low doses, a practical tip: weigh it, don't estimate by eye. The difference between 0.3 and 0.5 g per litre is substantial, and at that scale a spoon is unreliable. A precision scale reading to 0.01 g solves the problem for very little money. Dissolve it thoroughly before watering and monitor the final EC of the mix.
