Description
Amblyseius andersoni is a polyphagous phytoseiid mite that develops on tetranychids, especially on thrips larvae. It is useful for both indoor and outdoor cultivation. It can also be used to control other pests, such as spider mite.
It is a predatory mite found in Europe, particularly in northern Spain, and can be found on fruit plants.
They reach their adult cycle in just 7 - 8 days at 21°C. It tolerates temperatures between 6°C and 40°C, so the range is wide. In winter it enters diapause until summer, when temperatures reach 0 - 10°C. The mites bite and completely drain their prey.
