Description
The Water Master High-Flow Pressure Pump 800W draws water from the reservoir and pushes it through the irrigation network with a maximum flow rate of 3,200 L/h and up to 40 m of height, equivalent to around 4 bar. It works on the surface, outside the water, and can draw from 7 m below the pump, so it works both with an irrigation reservoir at its side and with one positioned at a lower level.
Pressure for self-compensating drippers
Self-compensating drippers only distribute the same flow rate to each pot when the line arrives with sufficient pressure, and a submersible circulation pump cannot reach it. This happens, for example, with the Medusa 12-outlet dripper. With 3,200 L/h, the Water Master Pressure Pump leaves room to feed several lines or medusas at once.
The included pressure switch controls the start: the pump starts when pressure drops in the network, when opening a tap or an irrigation solenoid valve, and stops when there is no consumption. The manufacturer does not recommend it for continuous operation over long periods, so it fits better in cycle irrigation than in permanent recirculation.
Priming and installation
As it does not self-prime, the suction tube has a check valve with filter at its submerged end, and before the first start you must fill the tube and casing with water through the top plug. Once primed, it retains the water when switched off and resumes pumping as soon as it is switched on. It must never run dry.
The outlet is 1" and the manufacturer recommends a pressure hose of the same diameter to reduce friction losses. It should only move clean water, without sand or sediment, and an irrigation filter in the line also protects the drippers. Install it in a dry, well-ventilated place, away from the humidity of the grow room (maximum 40 °C ambient and 35 °C in the water), with earth connection and 30 mA differential.
