The device features Internet connectivity via a standard CAT5 network cable and can be controlled free of charge through the TrolMaster app, allowing remote access from any location. Additionally, the NFS-3 offers the ability to view historical data directly on the controller or on a smartphone, and receive warning notifications if the growing environment exceeds alarm set points.

A standout feature is the crop-directed irrigation function, which optimises irrigation cycles according to specific crop needs. The controller can also integrate the water content sensor (WCS-1) or (WCS-2) to actively control irrigation cycles based on the water content of the growing medium.
