Pure Lemon Cherry

Most Lemon Cherry strains in circulation come from the same American lineage and share the same problem: they stretch. Pure Lemon Cherry is TH Seeds' take on that family, and their answer is to add pure Afghan genetics to the equation to bring it down to a normal cabinet size.

The Ember Valley cut and the Afghan

The starting point is a Lemon Cherry Pie cut brought in from Ember Valley, California: the cross of Lemon Cherry Gelato with Georgia Pie, selected for potency and flower density. The other half is the bank's own Pure Afghan, and it's the one that controls the structure: it shortens the internodes and limits stretch to x2 in most phenotypes, with the odd pheno reaching x3.

How it performs in cultivation

It spreads wide from the start and powers through veg quickly, so it doesn't need much time before switching the photoperiod. It finishes in 9 weeks, stays between 120 and 160 cm, and delivers 550-650 g/m² with a well-stacked spruce structure. It has a good leaf-to-flower ratio and the bank recommends letting it grow untouched or doing a single apical prune: more intervention loses the structure the Afghan gives it. It's one of the comfortable feminised seeds to manage, even if you don't have much height available.

Lemon and cherry ice cream, with eucalyptus

The profile is clearly dessert —lemon and cherry on a creamy base— with a touch of eucalyptus that sets it apart from the rest of the family. The flowers come dense and highly coloured, with purples, dark greens and spots trending black under a thick resin coat. TH Seeds is explicit about one point that matters if you're planning to wash: it performs better in ice water hash than in dry extraction, so it's worth having your resin extraction kit ready before harvest. At Mary Jane Berlin 2024 it measured 30% THC, and the bank maintains that all phenotypes have the potential for high figures.
