Harvest Right Home PRO Freeze Dryer

Manufactured and assembled one by one by Harvest Right in North Salt Lake (Utah), the Home Pro brings professional freeze-drying to a benchtop format. It freezes the product down to -40ºC and then removes the water through vacuum sublimation, preserving the volume, colour, terpenes and nutritional value of the original, without the oxidation or shrinkage of conventional drying.

It is the reference equipment for those working with solvent-free extractions (ice-o-lator, bubble hash, rosin) and also for preserving fruit, vegetables, meat or prepared dishes for years. All versions include Wi-Fi connectivity to monitor the cycle from your mobile.

How the freeze-drying cycle works

The process is automatic from start to finish: load the product onto the trays, close the door and press start. The machine freezes down to -40ºC to turn the water into ice, activates the vacuum pump and converts that ice directly into vapour without passing through a liquid state. When it finishes it alerts you, and the product comes out dry, light and stable.

A complete cycle can take between 24 and 36 hours depending on the load, the moisture of the material and the size of the equipment. Once the product is dry, it is packaged with the included Mylar bags and oxygen absorbers, sealed with the impulse sealer from the pack. Stored this way, the food can last up to 25 years.

Which size to choose

The difference between the three models is not just the number of trays, but how much product fits in each batch and how much surface area you have to spread it out, which is what determines your real working pace.

The Medium (4.5–6.8 kg per batch) suits domestic use and those who freeze-dry hash occasionally. The Large (8.2–12.2 kg) is the sweet spot for associations and growers processing full harvests. The XL (18.1–22.7 kg and 14,523 cm² of tray) is designed for continuous working volume: it doubles the capacity of the Large and allows you to process in a single batch what would otherwise require three.

Maintenance and consumables

Maintenance boils down to changing the pump oil every 20–30 batches, a task that takes a couple of minutes, and cleaning the chamber between uses. You have a replacement in the 950 ml Harvest Dry oil.
