Santa Cruz Shredder Rasta Grinder 54mm | Anodised Aluminium 3 Piece

This Rasta-finished grinder has no screen printing or paint: each of the three pieces is anodised in a different colour —red lid, yellow body, green base—, so the finish is part of the metal itself and won't chip with use. It's one of Santa Cruz Shredder's classics, a brand that has been manufacturing in the United States since 2007 and is new to our metal grinders section.

Three pieces, not four

The difference isn't about quality, it's about use. A four-piece grinder adds a sieve and an extra chamber to separate pollen; this one drops everything together into a lower chamber which, having no sieve underneath, is considerably deeper. If you vape or load your vaporiser daily and don't spend your time accumulating resin, the sieve is surplus to requirements and what you gain is capacity and one fewer piece to clean.

Patented teeth and anodised aluminium

The body is machined from aluminium and anodised, a treatment that hardens the surface and makes it scratch-resistant —resistant, not immune: a sharp knock will still leave a mark—. The teeth are of patented design by the brand and the exterior is knurled, which is what lets you turn it with a dry hand without slipping.

Santa Cruz Shredder offers a limited lifetime warranty, and it's worth knowing what that means before you buy: it covers only tooth breakage under normal use, upon presentation of proof of purchase. It does not cover scratches, dents or damage caused by use, and is only valid on units purchased from an authorised distributor.
