Pale in tone and almost ghostly in appearance, the Leucistic JMF mushrooms are the hallmark of this growkit, a variant of Psilocybe cubensis with reduced pigmentation. It arrives completely colonised in a bag and, like the rest of our mushroom packs in this format, requires no container or daily misting.

What does "leucistic" mean in Leucistic JMF

Leucism is a partial loss of pigment: unlike albinism, it does not eliminate all colour, so its mushrooms retain very pale tones without necessarily reaching the white of albino varieties. This is what distinguishes it from an albino strain like the Albino Teacher Mushroom Pack.

It descends from the JMF (Jedi Mind F*ck) lineage of Psilocybe cubensis, from which this variant inherits its structure and differs by its colour.

How to grow Leucistic JMF Mushroom Pack

Upon receipt, check the bag, remove the clip, inflate it with fresh air and seal it again. Philosophr recommends placing an elastic band at the height of the substrate to prevent mushrooms from fruiting along the sides. From there, simply exchange the air periodically and maintain a stable temperature of 20 to 25 °C.

The first two flushes do not require watering. After the second, add water to approximately one third of the substrate height, close the bag and remove any excess if not absorbed within 12 hours. This yields at least two flushes, and up to three or four; the manufacturer estimates a total yield of approximately 700 g of fresh mushrooms.

The first harvest arrives in about 2–3 weeks: pick the mushrooms when the caps begin to open, with a gentle twist and hands disinfected with alcohol. A pair of Flash Black Nitrile Gloves Powder-Free (100x) help maintain hygiene. If you are not going to start cultivation immediately, store the kit in the fridge between 2 and 8 °C.
